Martinez
Project Student
(June and July 2009)
Before coming to us for a two months research visit, Hector was working as a research assistant in the Optics Center of the Physics Department in the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. He was studying the radiation pressure forces exerted on dielectric spheroidal microparticles by a counterpropagating dual Helmholtz-Gauss beam optical trap using a formulation based on a ray optics analysis. In our group, he worked on the development of an imaging system for ultra cold atoms in our Bose-Einstein condensation setup.
